Taxi drivers in Malaga will strike on August 1

About 3,000 taxi drivers in the province of Malaga, more than half of the capital and the rest of the different municipalities of the interior and the coast, will strike on Wednesday, August 1.

This strike taking place at national level is against the approval of the Act that allows the liberalization of the sector of car rental with driver, where currently is authorized only one for every 30 taxis.

There will be minimum service, but only for medical emergencies or other significant emergencies. The strike is scheduled to begin at 6 am, with duration of 24 hours.

If you are worried about how to get to your holiday destination, there are several transport options from Malaga Airport: Public shuttle bus to Marbella suburban train to Malaga centre and the coastal resorts of Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola.

At that point we remind you that the Taxi strike takes place throughout the province; so check before how far is situated your hotel from any public transport to avoid having to walk with suitcases.

For major convenience, you can also rent a car at Malaga airport or book a transfer.
