Between Malaga City and Torremolinos you find the largest leisure centre of the along the Costa del Sol – The Plaza Mayor. This centre has been developed in an innovative way and with a unique concept. As for its architecture and it´s privileged situation (only 5km from Malaga Airport), it is definitely worthwhile a visit. The architecture of this leisure park is recreating a village with its corresponding squares and streets where we can find all kinds of shops and establishments related with leisure, such as cinema, pubs, restaurants, cafés, gyms and even discotheques.

Plaza Mayor was inaugurated a few years ago and being a vanguard and daring project in its design, in the beginning it caused quite some surprise.
The area has a particular appearance, recreating the mayor square of a village but with slightly psicodelic details and designs.
These details we can find in natural sized sculptures of animals in somehow strange surroundings, for example a pig… climbing up the wall. There are as well sculptures in the car park… we won´t tell what these are! Another curios thing are the toilets, you have to see it with your own eyes though.
The central area inside is completely uncovered and surrounded by a sheltered area with tables and several restaurants and ice cream parlors. The main offers are in the gastronomic sector: At Plaza Mayor you can find a wide range of restaurants for all tastes, Japanese, Hindu, Italian, Mexican, a Brazilian Bistro, Tapas, Grills and Fast food.
At Plaza Mayor you can find leisure activities for all ages and especially during the summer months the animation for kids is a strong point for parents visiting the place. As well there are concerts and presentations and from time to time some art crafts markets.
The commercial complex Plaza Mayor is situated at the motorway A-7 in direction of Cádiz, taking the exit towards Coín.
