The Andalusian city of Malaga, no doubt, is one of the major tourist centres around the country. Not only for the beauty of this charming capital, but by the many beaches expanding within a reasonable distance east and west of the city.
Today, Malaga airport has become one of the main entrances to this paradise of sea, sand, good weather and great gastronomy. Many aircrafts arrive from all over Spain and also from most of Europe, especially northern European countries, where people often choose Malaga and its surroundings as a holiday destination, and even for long-stay, especially during the cold winter months in their countries of origin.
This is not surprising, since from the airport we can quickly reach Malaga or rent a car and visit nearby popular seaside resorts such as Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola and Marbella.
All are places where you won´t have any problem to lodge, because the supply is ample for all budgets. Both for more austere economies as for those who can afford luxuries like five star hotels with all sorts of delicacies, and even rent yachts that will make us feel like Arab sheikhs who by the way, often choose the Costa del Sol for their vacations.
But the location of Malaga airport also offers the possibility to travel from there to one of the most monumental tourist destinations in Spain, the city of Granada, and especially its Alhambra Palace and Generalife Gardens.
