Malaga-Costa del Sol airport is consolidating its position as a reference destination for the major international airlines, which are also increasing their frequency.
One of the latest developments for the summer season will be more direct flights between Doha (Qatar) and Malaga.
It will be again at the hands of Qatar Airways, which this year has been offering this connection for six years, connecting travellers with more than 160 destinations through Hamad International Airport (HIA), the most important airport in the Middle East.
This connection offers great connectivity to Doha and destinations in the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Oceania. That is, with the additional flights passengers will be able to travel to some of the destinations such as Bangkok, Manila, Shanghai, Maldives and Phuket.
The route, as mentioned, is for the summer season, i.e. it will be available from 31 March until the end of October. In comparison, last year Qatar Airways offered this route only from 2 June to 11 September.
Flight frequencies & timetables Summer season (April – October)
While in April, May and October there will be three flights per week, in June and September there will already be five flights per week.
Flights will increase in frequency during the high season on the Costa del Sol and a daily flight during July and August.
From Malaga flights will depart at 4:05 pm and arrive in Doha at 11:55 pm (local time). Flights from Doha will depart at 8:05 am and arrive at Malaga-Costa del Sol airport at 2:35 pm local time.
Flight time for this non-stop direct flight is 7:30 hours.
Qatar Airways flight frequencies in Malaga:
- April, May and October – Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
- June and September – Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays
- July and August – daily
Route Malaga-Doha permanent all year round

Qatar Airways has just announced that its Malaga – Doha route will become permanent all year round, whereas, until now, it only operated during the summer season.
At the beginning of 2024, the Best Middle East Airline announced the increase of its frequencies for the summer season 2024. And now it is expanding its connection with Malaga-Costa del Sol airport, reinforcing its connectivity throughout the year.
So, for the high season there will be some 3,550 seats per week to and from the Costa del Sol with Quatar. And up to 1,524 per week from October 2024 and during winter 24/25.
Qatar Airways flight schedules in Malaga from October 2024 (Mondays, Fridays and Sundays):
- From Malaga (AGP) to Doha (DOH) Departure 3:05 pm / Arrival 11:55 pm (local time).
- From Doha (DOH) to Malaga (AGP) Departure 8 pm (local time) / Arrival 2:36 pm (local time).
